Size class is calculated according to shares in case several classes of owners own the same tax unit. In certain years, changes in tax assessment units may occur, which can have a significant impact on the reported area and, above all, on comparability between years. For the ownership category State, there are larger differences regarding the area of productive forest land during the period 2017–2022, which likely affect comparability over time. Used symbols:

0 = Less than 0.5. Quality-improving measures in the register data and processing routines have been implemented for the reference year 2025. The statistics have been revised for parts of the time series.
